In New Orleans at the NCVH 17th Annual Conference attendees viewed firsts – live cases using a device not previously used in a live case. Dr. Richard Kovach performed the first live case using the VesselSizer® device. “The patient was a 52-year-old male with bilateral severe calf claudication and Rutherford classification 3.” Live cases continue to be an annual highlight of the NCVH agenda. Having the ability to see how other operators approach a case, understanding the decisions that need to be made, and seeing new tools available. “We have to expose them to different modalities that will help them get better outcomes,” said NCVH Chairman Craig Walker.
